See Where Other Paths Have Lead

Kathryn

I trained as a nurse in the late 70’s at the Children’s hospital in Sydney. I have two adult children and a beautiful granddaughter. I moved to the Sunshine Coast in Qld where I worked as a SNP pathology collector for nearly thirty years and as a designated trainer in collection for the last four years of that period. I commenced at SCUH in CSR as a pathology assistant over twelve months ago.

I was involved with Cert III Pathology Collection trainees as part of my work at SNP. They did their practical training with me, after their course completion.

The Certificate III in Pathology Assistance course was offered to me by Pathology Queensland. I saw it as a great opportunity to broaden my knowledge base in my new position as a pathology assistant.

I enjoyed the training very much. I feel it covered aspects of what I do on a day to day basis, as well as giving me an insight into the broader workings of the laboratory.

My favourite part of the course was the interactions with fellow students and the trainers.

I am continuing in my Clinical Assistant role at SCUH, recently being trained to assist in haematology. If future courses become available, I would be happy to do more.

I completed health care training overseas and wanted to remain in this industry in Australia. I found out about LTT through a friend. I heard about their professionalism in training and that people who trained with them often found employment quickly or even while still training.

I decided to enrol in the Certificate III in Pathology Collection at the Perth training centre. My training was very informative and well structured. I really enjoyed our practical training in the classroom.

The LTT team are very friendly and approachable, they are focused on getting you ready with all the information and skills you need for the real world.

I am now focusing on job applications and boosting my networking abilities.

I am so glad I studied the Certificate III in Pathology Collection at LTT Perth. I had a great time and gained excellent knowledge from my trainer, Kelly Moses. She gave me very good insight about pathology collection as well as practical knowledge of the health industry. I am very thankful for Mary as well who would help me from time to time. Both trainers are very great and helpful.

I also want to thank Amanda for her help during my study. She helped me organise my work placement and helped me upload a few documents in the student portal. I am so keen to start my work placement with ACL.

A big thank you to all admin staff too, it has been a great time with all of you.

I was in the Defence Department for most of my working life, both in uniform and as a Public Servant, living in various locations in Australia.

I chatted with a phlebotomist about the types of employment available within the health sector. She mentioned LTT as an option for training. I checked out the LTT website for further information.

Studying the Certificate III in Pathology Collection at LTT Brisbane provided me the opportunity to attend classes for 2 days per week. As I live on the northern end of the Sunshine Coast, commuting to Brisbane daily for 5 days would have been out of the question. The logistics of 2 days was manageable.

My training experience was excellent. We had great instructors and great support staff.

My favourite part of the course was learning a whole new field of information.

I am currently employed as a Pathology Collector. The LTT course gave me a great baseline to build upon. I’m constantly learning and developing my skills. Thanks, LTT!

Before enrolling in the course I was working as a body piercer and beauty therapist.

I chose to study the Certificate III in Pathology Collection course at LTT Melbourne because it ticked all the boxes! For me it really helped that the course was two days a week.

My training was great, I loved it! My favourite part of the course would have to be the blood collection, I enjoyed it so much and loved every minute of being able to experience what it’s like to be in a phlebotomist’s shoes. Loved being at LTT and would love to come back as a student.

I decided to enrol with LTT Perth for the Certificate III in Pathology Collection because they had the course I wanted to do, and length of course fitted in with my other work.

I found the course to be excellent. I really enjoyed the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of fellow students, as well as the trainer’s knowledge and support.

I was working in the travel and tourism industry when COVID-19 happened. I had also had health issues, so I was looking to find a new career within the health care industry. I heard about LTT and found this to be the perfect opportunity!

I decided to study the Certificate III in Pathology Collection course with LTT in Melbourne because it was easy to commit, and I could study at my own pace. My training was very satisfying, and I received lots of encouragement and support throughout. My favourite aspect of the course was learning how to take blood.

Since finishing the course I’ve moved interstate and am looking for a pathology role. But I am also considering studying again.

I would like to include a huge thank you to Joe and the Melbourne team that got me an amazing placement opportunity. They went over and above what their role consists of. I am looking forward to the future and what career prospects that will come to me.
