See Where Other Paths Have Lead
Nicola
I was an enrolled nurse and had been working for 15 years in a private neurology practice.
I looked pathology courses up online and it led me to the Certificate III in Pathology Collection at LTT. I decided to attend an information session, and I got a very good vibe about LTT. The staff went out of their way to help me.
I found the training to be very good and I felt confident going into my work placement.
My favourite aspect of the course was the practical components. I am currently focusing on my new job with Australian Clinical Labs – thanks to my work placement! I want to continue in pathology collection for a while and you never know, one day I might become a manager!

Previously I had been working in the beauty industry. I found out about LTT and the Certificate III in Pathology Collection through Google.
The trainers are amazing at LTT (Kathie + Vaishali). Kathie was super supportive throughout the whole course. She was very helpful when needed. Vaishali came to see me during my placement and was also supportive. Merna was also super helpful on the day of the induction. She made enrolling so easy! My favourite part of the course was practising bleeds at the end of the day. Now that I’m finished my course I hope to work as a phlebotomist in future with the skills I acquired at LTT!

I started studying with LTT in February 2020. Due to COVID-19, my clinical placement was briefly put on hold so I completed my Certificate III in Pathology Collection qualification in July 2020.
My trainer was Kathie Kenny! She is BRILLIANT! I chose to study with LTT as they were recommended to me by a friend in the pathology/healthcare industry.
I really enjoyed my course. The classroom was so much fun. Kathie instilled such confidence in me during bleeds. She made the theory fun too, and related the content to real-life experiences, making it much easier to absorb.
My clinical placement was fantastic. I was in a busy collection room with a great mentor and had the opportunity to do almost 40 bleeds on a wide range of patients.
My favourite part of the course was the hands on learning. The course was much better than I expected and it prepared me really well for the workforce and my current role.
I gained employment a mid July 2020, straight after my placement finished. I’m working with Australian Clinical Labs doing COVID-19 collections at various drive through clinics and I will move into bloods and hospital training in the coming months.
My daily tasks at the COVID-19 collection sites include; strict infection control, patient identification, labelling swabs, and completing paperwork and day book. I also perform throat and nasal swabs (some days 150+ swabs), dealing with people of various ages, abilities and backgrounds. At some sites you work along side NSW Health. I started working in July during the height of the pandemic. It was fast paced, high volume, physically and mentally exhausting (some sites I have worked at have done 600+ swabs a day, between 5 people) but it’s been so much fun and you know the job you’re doing is really important and highly valued.

Before studying at LTT I was working full-time in an admin role. I decided to study the Certificate III in Pathology Collection with LTT because the class days and times were convenient and for me it was an affordable course.
I found my training to be great, the hands-on practical learning really made the course. I am now working at 4Cyte Pathology and using all the skills I have learned. At the moment I’m working doing the COVID-19 swabs at the drive-in centres. I’m really enjoying it and can’t wait to get into the bleeding rooms. Everyone is so friendly.
I want to add in that Jolanta Kfoury is an amazing trainer. I have studied quite a bit and haven’t come across a trainer that has got me so engaged in my study. She was very clear when explaining a new step or a new skill. Always willing to help you whenever you need.

Before studying at LTT I was working in Financial Services. I found about LTT just by searching the internet.
Overall, I found the training for the Certificate III in Pathology Collection course at LTT Brisbane very detailed and the delivery was a great experience. This gave me confidence to acquire new skills and a career change.
The theory content exceeded my expectations allowing knowledge acquisition. I really enjoyed the practical and the ability to do live bleeds. I was able to gain a new position just prior to course completion and am loving it. I intend to stay with this company and build my career as a pathology collector.

I was working as a Massage Therapist in NZ. My family and I moved to Melbourne and thanks to arthritis and a poorly healed broken wrist, I needed a change of direction. I found LTT’s Certificate IIII Pathology Collection course online. The course duration suited my lifestyle, so I decided to give it ago.
My tutor Jolanta was amazing! She has sound knowledge of the industry and the passion to pass it onto us in an interesting and engaging way. She was a great support during the bleeds and really helped me feel confident taking blood from my classmates! I always looked forward to coming to class as it was a consistently fun and engaging environment. My favourite part of the course was learning how to bleed.
I am now looking to find a position in this field of work and build on the knowledge I have gained over the year at LTT.
Thank you for the support to continue our bleeds when possible and to arrange placement in such challenging times here in Melbourne. It has been a long year trying to gain my qualification in pathology collection with all the COVID-19 restrictions but LTT have done a wonderful job keeping us motivated throughout and keeping in touch with what was going on. Thank you all!

I have a love for anything health and science related. Before starting LTT, I was studying a bachelor’s in nutrition. Whilst completing that, I decided I wanted to explore the health industry more and expand my options. Both a friend and l decided to study pathology and become pathology collectors! I enrolled in the Certificate III in Pathology Collection in October 2019. By the end of December, I had finished the theory aspect of the course
I had two lovely trainers, Kathie and Vaishali, who made the whole course so much more enjoyable. They were so fun to be around and explained everything so well.
The reviews sounded so promising and they all really lived up to expectation. LTT makes sure you have all the resources you need to gain a better understanding on the subject. From theory to practical work, it all worked hand in hand for me to fully understand everything.
Everything about the course was amazing. I made new friends, learnt so many awesome things and overall looked forward to the days I had classes!
My favourite part of the course would have to be all the practical work. I loved all the hands-on activities from the CPR training to the bleeds – it was all very memorable. The course was exactly what I imagined it to be and I loved every bit of it.
I gained employment shortly after completing the course. I am employed with Laverty as a Respiratory Collector at a COVID-19 drive-thru centre. Everything I learnt during the 12 weeks I have used in my work. There isn’t a single thing that wasn’t useful every piece of Information was vital and made all the difference. I definitely felt so prepared and confident.
Some of my daily tasks include, setting up the drive-thru before opening time, collecting the swab specimens from patients and ensuring everything is ready for the courier to take. I find working during the pandemic very rewarding. I feel like an important part of the community and playing a part in reducing the spread of COVID-19. It has been stressful and hectic, but knowing that I’m doing the best I can to help people stay safe motivates me to keep doing what I do.

I moved to Brisbane in 2016 with my family and was looking after my two kids which kept me busy as home maker. I was searching for certificate courses online and found about LTT Brisbane.
LTT was one of the very few training providers offering the Certificate III in Pathology Collection with a work placement component.
My training was excellent! And very useful too. I enjoyed the course thoroughly and practicing bleeding on our classmates.
I am now working as phlebotomist at 4Cyte Pathology which I am enjoying. Currently I am doing COVID-19 testing which includes things like:
- Swabbing
- Labelling
- Packing specimens for couriers
- Filling stocks
- Ordering stocks
- Cleaning
- And sometimes I do blood collections.

I have been working in the hospitality industry for almost 12 years. I was looking for a change in career and started looking for a short course.
I had been searching for a few years and even took a few TAFE classes. I found LTT and was very impressed by their website and all their reviews.
I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the course so much! But it was really enjoyable. The trainers and my peers in the classroom became like a family. Even though some days were stressful, I think it helped that we all had the same attitude.
I completed my Certificate III in Pathology Collection with LTT in February 2020.
I enjoyed every aspect of the course – from the bleeds to the CPR. I didn’t have any medical or health background, but I really enjoyed it all. The course certainly prepared me for the workforce, I felt as though there were no obstacles in my way.
I have been working for 4Cyte Pathology for just over a month now in their COVID-19 collection centre. It is a drive thru centre and has been very busy here in Melbourne. I found the first few days to be very stressful, however everyone was super helpful. I have no regrets studying at LTT.

I started studying with LTT in January 2020. I finished my Certificate III in Pathology Collection qualification in the last week of February 2020. I chose to study with LTT because they offered the shortest course and accommodate to people with impairments and disabilities. In the short course time, they have you trained, educated and workplace ready. The staff are so nice and welcoming.
Before deciding to study with LTT, I was going through a long-term health recovery. I was out of the workforce for a long time. LTT has changed my life in many ways and opened so many pathways for myself and my career.
My training experience at LTT was awesome. Joe and Jolanta are great at explaining things when I needed assistance. Kelly, my mentor, was amazing too! She made me feel so comfortable during my work placement. She encouraged my confidence and bleeding skills.
I completed my work placement component of the course at Monash Medical Centre. This was great fun, I bled over 100 patients. This helped my confidence grow. I was able to witness ward rounds and venesections which was a really cool experience. I did not think that I would be workplace ready by the end of the course, however with hard-work, dedication, and guidance of LTT’s wonderful trainers, it was definitely possible.
I gained employment with 4Cyte Pathology in June 2020. I am currently doing COVID-19 testing. This involves triaging patients, explaining the procedure, swabbing patients (throat and nose), cleaning, filling out day sheets, answering patient’s questions, ordering stock and keeping myself organised.
Working as a phlebotomist during the COVID-19 pandemic has been extremely busy, with long hours and big days! But it has been really nice meeting new people every day and working alongside doctors and nurses. We all work together as a team.
I have learnt a lot and have gained great experience during this time.
