Before enrolling at LTT Perth I was working as a BAS Agent (bookkeeper). I heard about LTT through a friend and decided to enrol in the Certificate III in Pathology Collection.
The course was well covered, and the Trainer was highly skilled. It was fantastic and we learnt a lot!
I really enjoyed meeting new people and learning a new skill for future employment. I’m now focusing on a new career and possibly more study!

I’m a high school graduate on a gap year. I found out about LTT Perth online and decided to enrol in their Certificate III in Pathology Collection as they had the most convenient class times.
I was extremely lucky and had Kelly as my trainer. She was incredible. She taught us everything we could need to know, was always happy to chat and help us improve. Overall, Kelly made the course really enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with LTT and am grateful for their education. My favourite part of the course was the people. Kelly was an amazing trainer. She always kept things light-hearted and fun, whilst still teaching us the necessary content. It really allowed the class to socialise and bond, resulting in a better learning environment. The people in the class were also all fantastic.

I am a people person and like a challenge, so I was adamant to continue my journey in healthcare. I came across the Certificate III in Pathology Collection through LTT as an option. I toyed with the idea for a while as change has always been a scary thing for me. Eventually I took the leap and attended an information session at the Brisbane training centre. Instantly I felt this was what I needed to do and signed up straight away to begin my new adventure.
The course itself was overwhelming at first – as are all new and unknown things. I was fortunate enough to have Mirta and Toni as my Trainers. I enjoyed the classroom-based learning. It was an intimate environment and I felt comfortable to approach my trainer when needed. The online course components were easy to navigate around, and I was able to keep in touch with my trainers whether I was at the training centre or at home.
Theory isn’t one of my strengths, but Mirta made it fun! She kept me interested and made it as interactive as it could be. The practical part of the course was so beneficial. It allowed us to gain hands on experience needed in the industry. We were able to explore our horizons, learn new skills and techniques whilst moving outside of our comfort zones.
I absolutely enjoyed every aspect of the course and would recommend it to anyone looking into studying pathology.
On completion of my study, I was fortunate enough to land a job with Sullivan and Nicolaides Pathology. Changing jobs in the middle of a pandemic was taking a risk, but I did anyway. I started off as a hotel swabber, then eventually moved my way into the clinics as a reliever.
LTT set me up with the skills I needed to be successful in this industry. One year on and I am now working full-time in a busy clinic, confidently and independently, and I love it. When I look back, taking a leap into a new adventure that I was so hesitant about paid off in the end. I see myself working as a pathology collector for a longtime to come.

Before enrolling in the Certificate III in Pathology Collection at LTT Brisbane I was assisting in nursing aged care. I wanted to broaden my career opportunities.
The course was really good fun and I met a lot of people that worked well together. Particularly all of the course interested me. I’m currently working in the field with Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology as a blood collector. This is my future long term job.

My background is in Special Education and I was looking for a complete change, but to still be assisting people through their health care journey. I decided to enrol in the Certificate III in Pathology Collection at LTT Brisbane. My training experience was excellent! Our Trainer, Cheryl Kelso, delivered the content in an informative and realistic way. Cheryl fostered a wonderful learning environment, of which I felt fully prepared for my role as a collector.

Before enrolling at LTT I was studying science, and volunteering for Red Cross. I chose to study the Certificate III in Pathology Collection with LTT Brisbane as it was cheaper and faster than TAFE. I was very impressed by the introductory session too.
My training was excellent. The course was very focused on practical preparation. My favourite part of the course was how the Trainers focused on getting students ready for the workforce. We would practice on each other immediately and frequently, which was a huge advantage. My Trainer, Mirta, used her own experiences to frame lessons as real examples.
I am now working for QML as a phlebotomist. At the moment, my major role is manning various drive-throughs; I’ve also spent the early stages of the outbreak performing private covid collections on clients in quarantine or being regularly screened. I’m a reliever, so I typically bounce between clinics in Brisbane. Sometimes I will fill-in at a clinic for several days while the regular collector is away.
My daily duties are blood collection, urea breath tests, urine and faeces collection, stock sorting, cleaning. Patients are consistently friendly. A fundamental skill I didn’t bother to pick-up at LTT was the ability to quickly read tests on a request and bin them by collection tube and department. I didn’t anticipate the ubiquity of rule three requests or the importance of being able to rapidly write and SAMCO referrals.

I am a wife to a beautiful woman and mother to two fur babies. I love to cook, read, travel and scuba dive. Before enrolling at LTT I ran my family travel agency for almost 19 years, until COVID-19 hit last year. I had already begun part time nursing studies, as a (very) mature age student and needed to find new work to allow me to keep studying my bachelor’s degree. I decided pathology collection made the most sense, as this would give me skills I would use once I was an RN.
I chose to enrol with LTT Melbourne for the Certificate III in Pathology Collection due to the availability of the course, the course length and for the fact it included the basics for drug and alcohol testing.
My training experience was fantastic! The information was clear, concise, and easy to understand. The assessments were created to make the learning as easy as possible. My favourite part of the course was all the practical classes and placement to consolidate all our knowledge.
The course was even more than I had hoped. I even got a job at my placement facility! I am now working at Monash Hospital as a pathology collector.
I can highly recommend LTT to anyone considering a move to this field and did exactly that the other day.

Before enrolling at LTT I was working as a childcare educator. I decided to enrol in the Certificate III in Pathology Collection at LTT Sydney because I wanted a change in career that will help me find a balance in my lifestyle with my three children.
I loved my training! I got a job before my work placement. LTT prepared me for the workforce and it makes me so confident to work in this role.
My favourite part of the course was practicing venepuncture on the real person.
