Industry Overview

School Science Technicians play a crucial but often under-recognised role in maintaining safe and efficient science laboratories.

From preparing experiments to maintaining equipment and supporting teachers, their expertise is vital. However, safety incidents in Australian school labs have highlighted the risks when protocols are not followed. LTT approaches school partnership

Recognising Experience and Building Skills

As Australia’s national leader in laboratory operations training and the only RTO with state funding contracts in every state and territory, LTT significantly reduces course fees for School Science Technicians. Since 2009, LTT has delivered nationally recognised training developed in collaboration with SETA and ASTA, graduating over 300 School Science Technicians across Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma level qualifications. This includes over 70 QLD graduates from the Department of Education’s upskilling program between 2022 and 2023.

Experienced technicians can have their skills formally recognised, while new technicians gain the essential knowledge to manage school laboratories safely and effectively.
