My background is in the oil and gas industry as a Senior Operator. I have previously completed the Certificate III in Laboratory Skills with LTT Brisbane and have now completed the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques! I chose to study with LTT as they’re a high-quality training provider. My training experience was excellent. I really enjoyed learning new ways of testing in the lab and doing formula calculations.

Originally from Russia, I moved to Australia in 2013. Back home, I studied a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering and I worked for three years as a petroleum engineer before we moved.
Before enrolling at LTT Perth, I was working part time at Australia Post. I have always been thinking about something a bit more challenging. Now that my boys are a bit older, I was thinking about changing my career.
There was an environmental lab very close to my house that I would drive past often, which made me think; “Should I work in an environmental lab?”.
I decided to study the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques after my friend recommended LTT to me, as she did the course as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my training experience with LTT. It brought back my confidence and helped to refresh my knowledge. I gained some new knowledge too, especially relating to the lab. I enjoyed all the work we did the lab; I even loved all the calculations!
I have gained a position at ALS as an Environmental Lab Technician – which is the lab very close to my house! I really recommend this course for people who enjoy maths and chemistry! Sahar was a kind and helpful trainer. She really helped with any questions we had.

I was working in an accounting firm as an accounts assistant before enrolling at LTT Perth. I was looking to upskill and wanted to learn something new, so I decided to study the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques course.
My training was brilliant. I enjoyed the knowledge questions and learning how to perform titrations. I am now focusing on entering the laboratory industry and work in pathology.

Prior to starting the course with LTT Melbourne, I was a Travel Manager with Corporate Traveller, a part of Flight Centre. Over 8 years I worked in the leisure and corporate travel space, in Melbourne and London.
After being stood down due to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, it was time for me to make a change. I chose to study with LTT after researching online and checking testimonials and reviews. I’ve always had an interest in science and technology and the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques course seemed like a good fit for me.
Priya was my trainer in class and James comes out to my lab every month. Priya suggested that I apply for a job that came up with Geotesta. I’m now working as a lab technician at Geotesta. I’m also assisting them with updating their lab spreadsheets and database. My daily tasks include compactions, CBR testing, particle size density testing, Atterberg limit testing, and triaxial permeability testing. Studying with LTT gave me the confidence to embark on a new career and the opportunity to continue studying while working. Many people at Geotesta are also studying with LTT and I expect more students will join our team in the future!

I have worked as a Laboratory Technician in veterinary diagnostic laboratories and pastoral research in the past. I am currently working as the sole Laboratory Technician at a secondary school.
I found out about LTT through the Laboratory Technicians Association of Victoria. I studied the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques through my employer to confirm that the skills I had learned on the job were correct and to improve my skills and knowledge to make me a better employee.
I am now in the process of applying to do the Diploma in Laboratory Technology, specialising in schools. In the future I hope to complete a Training and Assessment Course so that I will be able to train lab techs in the future. I thoroughly enjoyed my training with LTT! A huge thank you to Shahlaa, Taliah and especially Deborah for being so kind, understanding, and helpful. You are a wonderful team.

I studied the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques in 2019, finishing up in December. I had no chemical or scientific background whatsoever, but I did very good in the course! Sahar was a great Trainer.
Two days after the course finished, I started working at Intertek as an XRF technician. Intertek were such a great company to work for and it was such a great experience. Due to my husband working shift work, I had to stop working there after 3 months. When COVID-19 hit, I then started working for Transperth as a sanitiser operator. I was sanitising all the buses. I then started searching for a job that suited childcare hours.
I am now working full-time as a construction materials testing (CMT) technician at Materials Consultants. I was completely prepared for the job. I’ve never had a complaint from my supervisors. They have just enrolled me in the Diploma of Laboratory Technology with LTT too. The course was amazing. Anytime anyone asks me I tell them it was amazing, really really amazing. I learnt so much and I developed a passion for chemistry. I was really bad at mathematics in the past, but thanks to Sahar and her passion for explaining things, I was able to get through it. She made me realise I can do this. She helped me a lot and I really felt supported. My favourite part of the course was chemistry. I loved it, it was fantastic.

I was searching for work and found LTT Melbourne online. I decided to enrol in their Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques course as I only had to attend two day a week, whereas other providers wanted three days a week.
My training experience was satisfying, and I enjoyed all the practicals and group activities. I have since gained a job in the construction materials testing (CMT) field. I am working at the Terra Firma Laboratories in Pakenham. I love my job! My duties include performing tests like compaction tests, PI preparation, and going in the field with experienced employees. Eventually I will get the license for the nuclear gauge and go in the field to collect samples by myself. I hope to continue this job and advancing my skills.

I have a Post-Grad Diploma in Environmental Pollution Control Technology and was looking for job when I heard about LTT.
I decided to enrol with LTT Melbourne and study the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques to refresh my knowledge and skills required for job after long time back to my field. My training experience was very informative and knowledgeable. My favourite part of the course was completing the practicals in the simulated laboratory.

I work in sample preparing and my employer put me through the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques course with LTT.
This opportunity allowed me to further my knowledge and career. My training was simple and easy to follow, I enjoyed studying with LTT! I learnt a lot about working in a laboratory that I didn’t already know.
My next goal would be to complete my Diploma and Advanced Diploma, then I could become the supervisor!

I have been working as an Administration Manager/Senior Supervisor in an Alarm Monitoring Centre since 1998.
I heard about LTT by word of mouth from other pathology collectors in the industry. They couldn’t recommend LTT Perth and their Certificate III in Pathology Collection course high enough. My training experience was outstanding. The support and encouragement by the staff was the best part of the course. I would like to continue learning and building my skills in pathology and am now looking into further study and studying the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques.
