See Where Other Paths Have Lead
Sameera
Before joining LTT I worked as a Doctor in India and I was preparing for Australian medical council exams.
I chose to study with LTT as they provide the Certificate III in Pathology Collection. Even though the course is shorter than others, it covers all the required topics like first aid, work health and safety. The main aspect of the course is blood and other sample collections. My training was very good, it gave me an in-depth knowledge of pathology collection.
The staff are amazing and friendly. My favourite part of the course was the regular blood collection practicals. The active role-plays gave me real experience. My work placement was at a public hospital which made me job-ready.
I finished my course in February 2020 and gained employment in June 2020 with 4Cyte Pathology.
I am currently working in a COVID-19 collection centre. My daily tasks include:
- communicating and reassuring the patients
- confirming their details
- COVID-19 testing which involves collecting throat and nasal swabs
- labelling the samples
- entering the details in the register and,
- arranging for the samples to be transported to the lab.

Thank you to LTT for the amazing training and support throughout my time studying the pathology collection course.
I am glad that I enrolled with LTT to study the Certificate III in Pathology Collection course. Joe and Jolanta are amazing trainers. They trained everyone so wonderfully and they put all the effort in to support each and every student.
I will always recommend LTT. After finishing the course, I was able to gain employment with 4Cyte Pathology and I am working in one of their COVID-19 collection centres.
Thank you to all the LTT staff for your support and hard work.

Prior to studying at LTT, I was a stay at home Mum running a small online home décor and craft business. I had been working in the retail industry on a casual basis in various parts of the country for a number of years. I have always wanted to be involved in the health care/medical field in some capacity. With my youngest child commencing high school, I thought this was my time to make the change. I researched a few options and having heard good things about LTT, that is where I chose to study. Everyone I spoke to at LTT was so helpful and friendly, it seemed like the best place to be.
The Certificate III in Pathology Collection course was great – both Lauren and Amanda were super supportive, encouraging and very knowledgeable. The course was challenging with the amount of information we learnt in a relatively short period of time. However, Lauren was always there to help if needed. I have to say, the first bleeds we did were the most stressful part of the entire course and a day that I will never forget – now they are the easiest part of my job! For now, I am happily continuing my training with Clinipath Pathology and enjoying every day. Making the change to a pathology collector is one that I don’t regret, and I thank LTT for helping me start this journey.

Dear Jolanta, I just wanted to send this wee email in appreciation of how much of an amazing trainer you have been.
Firstly, I signed up to the Certificate III in Pathology Collection with LTT for a career change. As a single parent, I needed to find a career which suited me well. With my daughter starting prep, the shift work which I was working in was just not going to suit that, so it was time for me to step out of my comfort zone and go back to a short study at 30 years of age.
Throughout the course there were times I thought to myself, ‘why did I do this to myself, this is challenging’. I was so exhausted with working full time, getting my assessments done on time and being a mother, but I pushed through. I have you to thank for this as coming to your classes was fun, and learning was made easy with your teaching – not only from a textbook but real life experiences and stories which I loved. You made it crystal clear we could contact you at any time for help and assistance, which was an absolute comfort, and we all knew as a class we weren’t alone in this course. We had each other and a down to earth, fantastic trainer. Jolanta, you guided each and everyone of us in that class to trust in ourselves that we could be amazing phlebotomists! And here we are all qualified!
No one can beat your enthusiasm and passion to teach a course you clearly love, and a career you thoroughly seemed to enjoy prior to teaching. You inspire me to progress and grow in the pathology field with confidence.
Being accepted into a job role with Dorevich just three weeks after I finished my placement has me blown away. I can now go and build my confidence and skills with all the teaching you provided me and being open for us to contact you at anytime and keep you in the loop on how we are going along the way.
I am forever grateful to you for making the learning of phlebotomy easier with your down to earth nature, and as I say again, you made learning again fun and not one bit daunting. You are a credit to LTT. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jolanta.

I have 21 years’ experience in hospitality, however completing a Bachelor of Paramedicine, gave me a good feel for finding veins for cannulas, so I looked into what was required to become a phlebotomist. I decided to enrol in the Certificate III in Pathology Collection at LTT Brisbane because the course fees suited me. The training was superb! The trainers were super professional and insightful. My favourite part of the course was practicing how to collect blood on my class members. I’m currently doing a Master of Nursing, so by completing this course I have been able to secure a phlebotomist position at one of the major hospitals.

My background is working in the construction materials testing industry. I was offered to complete the Diploma of Laboratory Technology, through my employer to advance my skills and knowledge. This qualification taught me information that I never knew, I was so pleased to enhance my knowledge. My training encouraged me to help and share what I learned with my colleagues.

I completed my Diploma of Laboratory Technology with LTT and my employer offered me the opportunity to complete it. The content that I was provided, helped me improve my current knowledge and skill that I knew. The highlight of this course with LTT was that my trainer visited me at my workplace and the training was face-to-face. I hope to continue studying with LTT and attain the Advanced Diploma of Laboratory Operations.

My background prior to studying with LTT is that I am a homemaker and completed my Master’s in Dietetics. A friend of mine recommended I look at the courses at LTT, as she recently graduated from there. I attended their Open Day to explore what they have to offer. I was thoroughly impressed with the environment they had as well as how friendly the staff were. These factors influenced me to study Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques at LTT!
My overall training experience was so much fun, as we gained hands-on experience and appropriate knowledge and skills in the laboratory industry. I am now focusing on gaining employment as a food technician or as a laboratory technician.

My employer gave me the chance to improve my skills as a Lab Assistant in Pathology as they enrolled me in Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques with LTT. My trainer’s exceptional guidance, expertise and teaching approach made the material easy to understand and engaging. I now feel more confident and capable in my role.

I was employed at the time of studying and was looking to upskill myself. I work as a High School Laboratory Technician. Thanks to completing the Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques course, I’ve been able to move about within the education department without any concerns with experience and training.
The lab qualification helped this to happen without too much trouble as I recently changed position within the education department. Skills in chemistry have been invaluable to myself and my employer. I had some knowledge previously but now my knowledge is solidified. I liked the style of delivery. It was easy for me to work the study schedule into my current job situation. I was employed 4 days a week and this meant I could take one extra day paid study leave a week as well to complete the course over the 6-month period.
