Rebecca

I completed my Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques with LTT through my employer in QLD.

I have been with my current employer for 14+ years and have worked in many departments. I have been in the lab QC team for 4+ years.

I found out about LTT through my QA supervisor. Training with LTT while working suits my current situation. Overall, I found the training to be very flexible, it was great meeting up with my trainer to mark and sign off modules.

I am happy in my current role and hope to stay with the company for some time to come in the future.

I come from an Indigenous background of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island, I grew up in my hometown Injinoo which is one of the five communities in the Northern Peninsula Area also known as the NPA located at the most northern part of Queensland.

I am currently working for Metro Mining PTY LTD. I started working in the Laboratory as a trainee and did training on the job through LTT and completed my Certificate III in Laboratory Skills. I am now a qualified Laboratory Technician.

I have found the course very interesting and have enjoyed learning new things. I hope to one day become a lab manager.

I just wanted to tell you about the COVID-19 job I got at SydPath in Merrylands! It’s fun as I get to meet lots of people every day. I get to work on my customer service skills and I have also collected over 50 swabs in 2 days. I have been labelling tubes too. It was really fun to perform patient identification as well. I was so tired over the weekend as I worked 12 hours on both days. But it was a good experience overall. Thank to you, Vaishali!

Before enrolling at LTT Brisbane I worked in retail merchandising. I was recommended LTT by a friend.

My favourite part of the course was the face-to-face training. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. All staff at Brisbane training centre are so friendly and helpful. I am now employed as a pathology collector with 4Cyte Pathology! I am in a collection centre doing pathology tests, collecting blood and also going to our COVID-19 drive thru centres doing nasopharyngeal swabs. I am loving it!

Since finishing my course in 2019, life has been amazing. I got a job at Douglass Hanly within 3 months of graduating! I’m still working there now. LTT taught me how to be a skilled and responsible blood collector. Training at LTT was the best decision I ever made

I completed my Cert III in Lab Skills and Cert IV in Lab Techniques with LTT Brisbane in 2019 and 2020. I’m now working full-time as a Lab Assistant at Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology in Bowen Hills. I am in NIPT – Non-Invasive Pre-Natal Testing. Studying with LTT was life changing, fun and memorable. Sanju was my teacher; she offered fantastic help and support.

I was interviewed and employed during my work placement by QML back in 2020. I have worked as a pathology collector with QML for over two years. During this time, COVID-19 took over the world! I’ve become experienced in this field and now have my own clinic and work at a FAST sexual health clinic as well.

Two weeks after finishing the course in 2020, I received a call for a job! I’m now a full time collector. I’ve worked in COVID-19 drive thru clinics in multiple areas, and I’m hospital trained. I’m currently working in a hospital doing ward rounds and in an independent GP. I work mainly for cardiology specialists.

My life has changed dramatically as I used to be a Woolworths manager for 16 years. I love my current job! I found the course really enjoyable and a lot of fun. I didn’t like school and had dropped out in year 10. So, to do this course it was very scary for me. Once I got started it was every educational and a good environment. I highly recommend LTT. I would love to be a Trainer one day, I’m good at collecting blood from people with difficult veins.”

The work placement component with LTT helped me gain employment with Clinipath. I gained employment 4 months after completing the course in 2019. LTT taught me how to collect blood as well as drug and alcohol testing. I’ve been on the front line providing COVID-19 collects during outbreaks. I’m currently happy gaining as much experience as I can in my current role.

I was employed straight after finishing in 2018, and have worked full time since. I was employed by QML after studying with LTT where I stayed for 3 years. I spent two years running one of their busiest clinics. I was then approached by QLD health to work on a research project for Covax – studying the covid vaccine. I worked full time on this project for 8 months before transitioning to a permanent position for Pathology Qld at Caboolture Hospital where I am currently.
