Congratulations! 🥳
You Are Enrolled
We are absolutely thrilled to have you on board and taking this exciting step in your career. To help you hit the ground running, we have put together everything you need to know before your first day.
Finding your campus
Getting to class is easy, and all our training centres feature a student kitchen equipped with a fridge, tea, and coffee facilities. You can bring your own lunch or grab a bite from one of the great local cafes nearby.
Level 2, 23 Wentworth Street (Google Maps). It is a 3-minute walk from Parramatta Station, or you can park securely at the station for $14 a day.
28 Russell Street (Google Maps). Parking is limited, so we highly recommend taking public transport. The South Brisbane Train Station is a 6-minute walk away.
25 Colray Avenue (Google Maps). We are a 13-minute walk from Glendalough Station, or you can catch the 413 bus.
What to wear
For workplace-based students, simply follow your employer’s regular uniform policy and dress code.
If you are attending a training centre, our safety and infection control standards require a specific dress code to properly prepare you for clinical environments. During face-to-face training, please wear:
Long pants and sleeved shirts.
Enclosed footwear.
Hair tied back if it sits below your shoulders.
Short, clean fingernails with no polish or fake nails.
Minimal to no jewellery, plus any required personal protective equipment.
Pathology collection students have extra requirements for clinical placements, including an LTT polo shirt, black pants, and black closed-in shoes (full details at ltt.edu.au/workplacement).
What to bring
Everyone should bring a standard notepad and pen to take notes during training.
If you are studying a blended course like the Certificate III in Pathology Collection, you will also need to bring some tech gear. Please pack:
A laptop with at least a 4-hour battery life, charger, and one USB port.
Headphones and a USB drive for backing up your work.
Google Chrome and Microsoft 365, which LTT provides for free (you will receive login details shortly).
If you do not own a suitable device, please contact us as soon as possible to reserve one of our limited loan devices for class time.
Other Information
Your digital learning hubs will keep you organised and on track throughout your studies.
Student Portal: Log in at ltt.vtportal.com.au/studentportal to check your schedule, upload files, and message your trainer directly.
LTT Online Learning: Access your eLearning modules via the Student Portal or by downloading the free Moodle app from the App Store or Google Play.
Turning up on time sets you up for success. We ask training centre students to arrive 15 minutes early on their first day to check in at reception, and remember to sign the attendance record for every class.
If you are running late or sick, let us know immediately. Missing a class means you will need to catch it up with another group later, which will delay your work placement and extend your course time. In fact, our records show that students who stick to their original training schedule transition into their clinical placements weeks faster than those who miss sessions. Pathology students must complete all 20 face-to-face days and the mandatory induction to be eligible for placement.
For workplace students, we need at least two working days’ notice if you have to cancel or reschedule a session. Late charges may apply based on your employer’s service level agreement.
