Geotechnical & Civil CMT
Industry Overview
Australia’s public infrastructure pipeline is worth approximately $230 billion over the next 10 years.
Both state and federal-funded projects including Sydney Metro, Melbourne Suburban Rail Loop, Inland Rail, EastLink WA and the QLD Brice Highway upgrade and the Brisbane 2032 Olympics are creating unprecedented demand for both field and lab-based testing. LTT train, support and qualify more Geotechnical and Civil CMT personnel than any other RTO right across Australia. As the cornerstone of Australia’s infrastructure build, qualified testing personnel aren’t just a box to tick, they are essential.
Supporting ISO/IEC 17025
LTT’s accredited qualifications are mostly funded and play a key role in supporting your ISO 17025 requirements by demonstrating staff competence (Clause 6.2), supporting method validation and technical rigor (Clause 7.2), and ensuring ongoing training records (Clause 6.2.5). They provide objective, auditable evidence of skills, align with recognised industry standards, and support continuous professional development. This helps labs select appropriate test methods, troubleshoot effectively, and meet compliance expectations during audits, such as NATA assessments. Structured, certified training not only reduces non-conformance risk but also strengthens credibility, traceability, and technical integrity.
