Before studying at LTT, I was working in admin and customer service. I had previously completed two undergraduate degrees – one in science (forensic biology & toxicology). I was motivated to enrol because of the short duration of the course (~6 months), and I believed completing this course would enable me to get my foot in the door for a career in science, particularly lab work.
I have developed confidence to complete lab-specific procedures and analysis and secured a FIFO job with Intertek – Laboratory Technician – and I am excited to start after the course is completed.
I would like to give appreciation to my trainer, Sahar. Not only was she a wonderful teacher but also a role model as a woman in STEM. Her knowledge was incredible after a career in laboratories as well as her career in teaching/training science. I am confident she has inspired others, like myself, in her personal and professional capacity.
