This qualification is delivered by LTT Group Pty Ltd (RTO 51621) and equips students with practical skills in planning and conducting laboratory field work, recording and presenting data, performing basic tests and standard calibrations, maintaining a laboratory and more.
The course focuses on safety and aims to prepare students for entry level jobs as laboratory personnel, including laboratory assistants, instrument operators, and more.
Classes are held 2 days a week over 16 weeks. Class times are 8.30am-3pm on either Mondays and Tuesdays or Thursdays and Fridays (depending on intake) at our South Brisbane training centre. Classes are occasionally held on different days of the week due to public holidays.
Course fees depend on individual eligibility for government support. If you are unsure whether you qualify for a government supported training place, please contact our team on 1300 588 588. Credit transfers may reduce the course fee payable.
For students eligible for government support
The MSL30118 Certificate III in Laboratory Skills is partially funded by the Queensland Government for students who meet the eligibility criteria under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program.
$550 - concession student co-contribution fee, payable upon enrolment

Co-contribution fees represent the total cost to the student to enrol in, undertake training, and be awarded the qualification. For students not eligible for government support
$2,952 - fee for service student tuition fee
To secure your place in class, a $300 deposit is payable upon enrolment (cash and EFT facilities are available). This amount is deducted from the total course fee. Fortnightly direct debit payment plans are available to distribute payments of the remaining balance ($2,652) over an 16 week period (8 x fortnightly payments of $331.50).
Our refund policy can be viewed here.
Students are assessed on their performance in practical and written assessments.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) and credit transfer processes are available for eligible students. Please contact our team on 1300 588 588 to discuss these options further if you believe you may be eligible for RPL or credit transfer (for equivalent units of competency completed previously). A copy of the original transcript must be provided if applying for a credit transfer.
